In addition to Group Product Marketing Vice President, I have been given the additional role of Group Software Defined Vehicle Product Vice President of the Valeo Group (automotive supplier, approx 17.2 Billion Euros in sales (2021) and present in 31 countries, the Group employs 103 300 people at 184 production sites, 64 Research & Development Centers).
Product marketing is responsible for product strategy and has the mission to anticipate future customer expectations in terms of mobility - 2, 3 and 4 wheel! A recent focus has been on how software is transforming our business and making it possible to deliver more value throughout the life of our products. With OTA updates, the software we deliver will continue to evolve even once the vehicle is in the end-customers hands.
The shift towards a software defined vehicle has already started. It will bring new opportunities and challenges that we have not seen in our traditional hardware business, especially related to product life cycles and business models. This will transform our business, my role is to maximise our opportunities!
